what is a widelot™

WideLot™ construction is simply a different way to look at space. Instead of building a long home with a garage dominating the front of the structure, WideLot™ allows the home to open up, presenting a wider profile to the street. This allows for more interesting architectural design possibilities including front porches, more window space for natural light and less attention to the garage. Homes are also closer to the street for more neighbourly interaction.

Because these homes are built wide, there are fewer homes on each street and less traffic. Mattamy also builds the homes at various setbacks from the road for a more pleasing look. We also curve the streets which helps slow the traffic down. And we vary the architecture on each street to create a more interesting, pleasing streetscape.

WideLot™ communities, with their many parkettes, walking/biking paths and greenspaces are designed for people not cars. They have a unique, comfortable, friendly feel.
