Since 2005 Mattamy Homes Tour de Bleu has been an ongoing success story matching avid cyclists who believe in supporting children in need. Peter Gilgan, CEO of Mattamy Homes, took on the spirit of a 200 mile charity cycling event and with the support of his company, cyclists, and corporate partners created an extremely successful fundraiser supporting children’s charities in Halton and Peel regions.

The fundraising focus for both the 2005 and 2006 Tour de Bleu events resulted in the complete renovation of Marnie's Lounge, a SickKids "Home Away From Home" to provide comfort and fun for children receiving treatment.

In 2007 and 2008 the event successfully raised $1 million to fund an Endowment for the Advancement of Pain Management for Children.

Now in 2009 the Tour de Bleu has taken on the challenge to raise enough funds to rebuilding the Intensive Care Nursery at Trillium Health Centre. All donations will be used to create more space for parents and health care specialists to support the critical needs of babies born prematurely.
